Northumbria is a magnificent region with a unique culture, long-standing traditions and a very identifiable musical sound. It is a kingdom of castles and cathedrals and is home to possibly the most remote and unharned National Park in the whole of the country.

Northumbria is more than just a reminder of our countries past warfare, it the home of Celtic Christianity in England which has produced some of the finest churches, abbeys, and cathedrals in the world and is home to figures such as St. Aiden, St. Bede and St. Cuthbert. Northumbria has its own food and drink, tartan, distinct birds and wildlife, flag and is the only British county to have its own music instrument!
